This year’s show has again raised the bar

The Blaston Show, including The Blaston Hound Show, has had another very successful year, breaking all previous records, a result which has been reflected in the increased amount paid to charities which totalled an impressive £23,750. There were over 6,000 people at the 2025 Show which is truly “The Greatest Little County Show” in the country.

Blaston’s main charity for this year was Cure Parkinson’s which received £8,000, while Next Chapter Horse Rescue was awarded £4,000 and Riding for the Disabled £3,000. The remainder of the donations were split between a number of local charities, especially those who assisted on the day, which included Medbourne Cricket Club, Medbourne Pre-School, the 1279 Air Cadets and the Welland Valley Scouts who each received £650..

The Blaston Show is run completely by volunteers, who give up their own time throughout the year in order for the day to go ahead. The Show is run for the sole purpose of making donations to local charities, groups, and individuals who meet the Charity’s aims. Next year’s headline charity will be LOROS, an organisation which offers hospice care to terminally ill adults, their families and carers. It costs £8 million a year to run the hospice and they are £2 million short this year due to a combination of tax changes and a reduction in legacies. This has led to LOROS having to close some beds and stop some outreach support.

Next year’s show will take place on Sunday 28th June. New volunteers are very welcome, and memberships are available. Full details are on this website.
