Having lost two precious years when our show hasn’t been able to be held because of the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are back for 2022!
Throughout the lockdowns the Trustees and the Committee have continued to work on the show’s behalf to ensure that the show continues to go from strength to strength offering a wonderful family day out, with something for everyone.
The big news is that we have a new Showground! Bigger, flatter, with better access and more scope to accommodate the displays, stalls, competitions and entertainment the show has been known for.
Our previous venue is sadly no longer available to us for agricultural management reasons. We would like to thank Rob and Jo Miller of Black Horse Farm for their support and generosity for allowing us to use the site for the last 24 years!
Our “new” site is just to the North of Slawston village, off the Cranoe to Hallaton Road. It provides a large, level and well drained area, with 30 acres of pasture land which will be made available to us. It will allow safe access for vehicles, livestock and people on foot off the Slawston Road and enough space for our show to flourish and grow. There will be adequate parking space for cars and lorries to manoeuvre.
We have shows of cattle, sheep & lambs, sheep shearing, goats, dogs of all breeds, including working dogs, horses with hunter trials, show ponies, together with the largest vintage tractor gathering in the county. Our regular classic car display, many of whom will engage on a friendly arranged ‘run’ around the local countryside, before parading in the ring for judging; if you have a classic car why not join in?
We look forward to seeing welcoming you to our new home!
