We will be supporting two fabulous charities this year – the Air Ambulance Service in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire and Home Start South Leicestershire.
Our local air ambulance’s critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of five rescue missions a day. The air ambulance team is supported by a Critical Care Car, which provides valuable backup for incidents close to the helicopter base or when the weather makes it too dangerous to fly. It also enables the doctors and critical care paramedics to run a night car service so that they are available to reach those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
The charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations to raise the £1,700 needed for each rescue mission. It’s a fantastic cause – please support them.
Home Start South Leicestershire is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support, helping families with children under five with practical and confidential support.
Sometimes everyone needs a bit of extra support and the charity has to fundraise all year round, every year to meet all its costs – which run to around £200,000 per year. The more it can raise, the more families it can help – another fantastic cause.
