Choose your Class Entry from the list of choices, state the Name of Rider & Horse/Pony, with Animal Height, Breed, Reg No and Age. You can add as many entries as you wish by using ‘Add to Basket’ before finalising your order and proceeding to checkout. Online credit/debit card entries will cease on Monday 22nd June 2026.

Classes marked with EQ are qualifiers for Equifest 2026. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest Championship class to be held at Arena UK, Grantham, Lincolnshire on 5th – 8th August 2026.

Classes 1-4 to be run as single phase
Class 1: Mini jumping may be led/assisted
Fences not to exceed 30cm.
Class 2: 12 Years and under
Fences not to exceed 50cm.
Class 3a: Ponies 14.2 and under, riders any age
Class 3b: Ponies over 14.2, riders any age
Classes to be run simultaneously. Fences not to exceed 60cm.
Class 4a: Ponies 14.2 (148cm) and under, riders any age
Class 4b: Ponies over 14.2 (148cm), riders any age
Classes to be run simultaneously. Fences not to exceed 80cm.
Class 5: Fancy Dress
Free entry – details to be given prior to entering the ring at the secretaries tent. Rosettes to all participants mounted and unmounted.
£25 prize money for the winner.
Entry fee: £5.00 per round – payable at the ringside on show day.

Class 9: Open Ridden Hunter – EQ
Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 158cms. Rider any age.
Class 10: Open Ridden Cob – EQ
Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 155cm. To be shown hogged and trimmed. Riders any age.
Class 11: Open Retrained Racehorse – EQ
Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, any height. Horses must have been raced in the UK to be eligible to complete. Riders any age.
Class 12: Ridden Mountain and Moorland Pony – EQ
Open to Mountain and Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure-Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C, and D.
Class 13: Open in hand Veteran Horse or Pony – EQ
Stallion, mare or gelding, 15 years old and over. Any type or breed.
Special rosette to be awarded to the oldest horse/pony.
Class 14: In hand Piebald/Skewbald Horse or Pony – EQ
Stallion, mare, colt filly or gelding, any age.
Class 15: Young Handler 12 years and under
Mare or gelding, any height appropriate to the handler, to be judged on the ability of the handler to show the pony.
Class 16: Lead Rein Pony
Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, rider to be 8 years and under – to be judged on turnout, suitability and performance.
Class 17: First Pony
Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, riders of any age to be judged on turnout, performance and suitability as an absolute first pony.
Special rosette to be awarded to the youngest rider, kindly donated by Lady Olivia Onslow.
Class 18: Family Horse or Pony
Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, riders of any age, to be judged on turnout, performance (must jump a very small jump) and suitability as an absolute all-rounder.
Class 19: Traditional Gypsy Cob
Mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, rider any age, to be judged on turnout, conformation and performance.
Class 20: Ridden Veteran Horse or Pony
Mare or gelding, 15 years and over.
Champion rosette to be awarded to the oldest horse/pony.
Class 21: Ridden Piebald/Skewbald Horse or Pony
Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Riders any age.
Online Entry: £10.00 for all five classes. Showday Entry: £12.00 for all five classes.
This class is kindly being run by the Next Chapter Horse and Pony Rescue and Rehoming Centre. Please visit their stand to learn more about the excellent work that they do.
There will be five races in each age group:
Class 22 (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) – Lead rein under 8 years
Class 23 (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) – Under 12 years
Class 24 (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) – Open
Free Entry. Parents to lead ponies up through the bending poles and back again.
Children are encouraged to cheer their parents on.

All Entrants must agree to adhere to the following rules:
· Ridden animals to be 4 years old and over.
· The rider’s/handler’s age is as at 1st January 2026.
· Skull caps to the current British Standards must be worn whilst mounted at all times and body protectors should be worn for jumping classes and are strongly recommended for all other classes.
· The judge’s decision in all classes is final.
· It is the responsibility of the competitors to ensure they get to their class on time. An update can be obtained from the Secretary’s tent.
· Equine entries must comply with current guidance on Equine Flu.
· All equine entries must enter the showground through the designated horse box parking area via the indicated gate and use the horse walk at all times.
· No animals should be exercised in the showground or horse box park, except within the collecting rings.
· Any abuse of a horse or misuse of a whip may result in dismissal from the show ground.
· It is strongly recommended that horses and ponies are not left unattended in horse boxes or trailers.
Entry to the Show
Blaston Show greatly values your participation and we trust that our competitors appreciate that the Show is a registered charity, with the purpose of raising funds for deserving local causes. As such, to avoid any misunderstanding or misinterpretation we would inform all equine and livestock competitors that their competition entry fees (regardless of number of classes entered) entitle them to complimentary Show Entry for a maximum of 2 people only.
Any additional people/helpers, over the age of 12, travelling in that horsebox or towing vehicle, will be charged £5.00 each for admission. Any other people/helpers in other vehicles accompanying horseboxes or animal trailers will be directed to the public car park and pay the standard entry fee.
