Despite the Blaston Show being cancelled for 2020 due to the Coronavirus situation, we are pleased to announce that a ‘No Show’ Classic Car Run will now take place whilst observing and adhering to strict government practices and guidelines concerning the prevention of spreading Covid-19.
The meeting place will be sectioned into individual vehicle areas, each a minimum of 6m wide x 8m long, so entrants can enjoy their picnic whilst adhering to social distancing measures.
Entry is restricted to a maximum of 40 vehicles, all pre-booked from this website, who must present their website booking receipt to Blaston CCR Marshalls to gain entrance to the venue. NO entry tickets will be available for purchase on the day! All vehicle occupants MUST be members of the same household.
Entrants are invited to buy/bring a picnic (strictly no BBQs or Gaz stoves!) to enjoy either before or after they take part in the ‘Run’. The ‘Compton & Kennedy Emporium’ will be on-site providing freshly baked scones and cakes, as well as tea and coffee (streets ahead of a thermos!). They are also offering a selection of Afternoon Tea menus that will be available on a pre-order basis to participants to choose from. Menus will be sent directly on receipt of your entry order. Toilet and sanitizing facilities will be available on-site. You are reminded that all areas are part of a farm, so please make provisions to take your own litter home with you.
The ‘Run’ is completely non-competitive, approximately 30 miles, and is open to all road-legal classic, vintage and other interesting vehicles. Unfortunately, there will be no ‘Best Turned Out’ competition this year due to presentation difficulties. To reduce the risk of personal transmission of Covid-19, the ‘Run’ route map will be sent via email to each participant two days before the ‘Run’, for them to print out a personal copy. There is no set time to start, each entrant is free to choose when to commence the ‘Run’ between the venue open times of 10.30am and 3.00pm.
As mentioned above, vehicle occupancy is restricted to members from the same household ONLY. Should you, or any of your fellow passengers show or experience any symptoms of Covid-19 on the morning of the event – then you/they should not attend!
Measures to encourage social distancing will be in place on-site. However, the use of face coverings and/or any other type of PPE is the responsibility of the individual to provide and use. Although, hand sanitiser will be available at points throughout the parking area.
Please remember: PPE is not just for your protection, but for the protection of all around you!
