There will be a PARADE OF CHAMPIONS in the cattle ring at approx 3.00 p.m. and cattle can then leave the Showground Heart of England Cattle Championship This year Cattle Exhibitors will have the opportunity to gain points by showing at the three shows of Kenilworth (6 June 2022), Blaston (26 June 2022) and Blakesley (1 August 2022). Exhibitors will accumulate points for entering cattle (up to a maximum of four animals) and awarded points for top five placings.  Each show will award Sashes and Rosettes kindly sponsored by their respective NFU Mutual Branch Stoneleigh, Market Harborough and Brackley.  The Exhibitor with the most points at the conclusion of the three Shows will be awarded the prize money sponsored by Harris & Clarke Chartered Accountants. Qualify and enter ANY of the Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales & South West or Scottish. You do not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The winner to receive the Blaston Show Mountain and Moorland Cup Class 6:  (Equifest / TSR) Open Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein and First Ridden For Lead Rein - Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland and Welsh A or B. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 9 th birthday before 1st January in the current year.     Class 9:  Ridden Ex-Racehorse (Not before 1pm) Open to all thoroughbreds unraced and raced 4 years and over that have been ‘in training’ and are registered with Wetherbys.  Class to be judged on turnout, manners, way of going, performance and conformation. The winner to receive the ‘John’ Trophy Class 10:  Ridden Veteran Open to riders of any age and to horses over 15 years of age of any height. The winner to receive the Falcon Hotel Challenge Cup These Classes will be followed by a Show Horse Championship.

    Classes 11 & 12:

    Entry fee: £15.00   Rosettes: to 6th place Prize Money First: £15.00   Second: £11.00   Third: £9.00 Class 11:  Arena Eventing (Pony) Arena Eventing is a two phase competition, General rules follow the current Pony Club Eventing Rule book except as modified below. Competitors will jump a course of show jumps immediately followed by a course of cross country style fences. There will be no more than 20 (dependent on size of arena) jumping efforts in total. The optimum time should be based on a speed of 325 mpm (PC80 and below), Horses/Ponies must be aged 5 years old and over. Stop Watches are not permitted. The winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties. In the event of a tie the winner will be the one closest to the optimum time. The course will only be open for walking before the class starts. The Judge’s decision is final. The winner to receive the Fernie Pony Club Cup Class 12:  Arena Eventing (Horse) Arena Eventing is a two phase competition, General rules follow the current Pony Club Eventing Rule book except as modified below. Competitors will jump a course of show jumps immediately followed by a course of cross country style fences. There will be no more than 20 (dependent on size of arena) jumping efforts in total. The optimum time should be based on a speed 375 mpm (PC90 and above). Horses/Ponies must be aged 5 years old and over. Stop Watches are not permitted.     Winner to receive the Blaston Novice Cup Class 14:  (80 cm Horse and Pony Open Jumping) Maximum height 80cm.  Time limit of 2 minutes allowed in the first section of the course.  The second section of the course will be timed.  No jump off. Faults:
    • Knock down - 4 faults
    • First refusal - 4 faults, Second refusal - 4 faults,
    • Third refusal - elimination

    Class 15:  (90 cm Horse and Pony Open Jumping) Maximum height 90cm.  Time limit of 2 minutes allowed in the first section of the course.  The second section of the course will be timed.  No jump off. Faults:

    • First refusal - 4 faults, Second refusal - 4 faults,
    • Third refusal - elimination
    • A horse or rider fall anywhere on the course – elimination.
    Winner to receive the Blaston Show Accumulator Cup Class 16:  (100 cm Horse and Pony Open Jumping) Maximum height 100cm.  Time limit of 2 minutes allowed in the first section of the course.  The second section of the course will be timed.  No jump off. Faults:

    • First refusal - 4 faults, Second refusal - 4 faults,

    Classes 17 & 18:

    Entry fee: £15.00   Rosettes: to 6th place Prize Money First: £15.00   Second: £11.00   Third: £9.00 Class 17:   (Equifest / TSR) Open Working Hunter Ponies Working Hunter Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 153cms. Riders must be the correct age for the animal they ride. Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year.  The course should consist of not less than 7 fences and should contain a change of direction and a spread fence. The winner to receive The Gamesmaster Trophy Class 18:  (Equifest / TSR) Open Working Hunter Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms. Riders of stallions to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Maximum height of fences 1.14m (3’9”) at the discretion of the Judges. These classes will be followed by a working hunter championship (The winner to receive the Blaston Show Working Hunter Champion Plate, The highest placed horse that has hunted in the Fernie or Cottesmore countries in the last season will receive the Huntsman Trophy) and an Overall Hunter Championship.

    Blaston Show - Sunday 26 June 2022

    Classic Car Run & Display

    Blaston Show are again running the popular Classic Car Run & Display for 2022. Mass and his staff at The Fox Inn at Hallaton (LE16 8UJ) welcomes us once again as a start venue, which is situated approximately nine miles North East of Market Harborough. Bacon butties and Tea/Coffee will be available from The Fox Inn from 9.15am. Please arrive between 9:00am and 10:15am to collect your route instructions. Cars can then choose to start the approx 30 mile run whenever they wish up to 10.30am, when the remainder will be set off at 30 second intervals. Cars are required to meet up again at the Fox Inn by 11.45am, before entering the show by a grand parade for the prize giving in the main Blaston Show ring. Cars will then be escorted to the Classic Car Display area. For safety reasons we ask that your vehicle stays on display until 4.00pm. The Run is completely non-competitive and is open to all road-legal classic, vintage and other interesting vehicles. There will be a ‘Best Turned Out’ competition and trophies will be awarded for the best in each of two classes:
    • Class One: Pre-1970
    • Class Two: 1970 to 2000
    Newer, interesting cars are very welcome to enter the run but will not be eligible for the ‘Best Turned Out’ competition. Advanced online entry is only £28.00 if received before Monday 20th June (via Bank Transfer) or Wednesday 15th June (via cheque/post), or £35.00 on the day (cash only please as no card payments can be taken), and includes admission to Blaston Show for a car and its occupants, route instructions, entry in the ‘Best Turned Out’ competition (judged before the run!) and infield parking in the classic car display area at the show.

    Classic Car Static Display Only

    Classic Cars not wishing to participate in the Classic Car Run are invited to show their cars (up to year 2000 models only) as part of the static display at the show. Entry is £18.00 per vehicle and occupants by pre-booking only before Monday 20th June (via Bank Transfer) or Wednesday 15th June (via cheque/post) and requires your arrival at the Showground before 10:00am. For safety reasons we ask that your vehicle stays on display until 4.00pm. Whether you choose the Classic Car Run or the Static Display, please bring your online receipt with you as proof of booking.
