Body protectors may be worn and are strongly recommended. The judge’s decision in all classes is final BUT objections can be lodged with a £20 deposit to the Secretary within 15 minutes of the Class closing. It is the responsibility of competitors to ensure they get to their class on time. An update is available from the Secretary’s tent. Equifest The show is affiliated to Equifest taking place at the East of England Showground between the 29th August and 1st September 2019. The two highest exhibitors in classes 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 21 & 22 not already qualified, will qualify for Equifest 2019. The Showing Register (TSR) TSR Showing Finals - This show is a qualifier for the 2019 TSR Showing Finals. Qualify and enter ANY of the Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales & South West or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals! TSR Riders Finals - 1st & 2nd qualify and will receive qualification cards in the ring. TCR In Hand Finals - The two highest placed handlers with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand Class. Handlers MUST have their card signed in the ring by the judge/steward. Cards are available from the TSR website . Full details at www.theshowingregister.co.uk TSR Medal Awards - TSR members can collect qualification cards and signatures and redeem for a TSR Medal. BSHA Grass Roots Champs - With a TSR qualification card you can also enter the BSHA Grass Roots Champs in Sept. at Addington Equestrian Centre – you do not have to be a BSHA member to qualify or enter the final.     Classes 1 & 2 Entry Fee: £10.00 1st - £16      2nd - £12    3rd - £8 Rosettes to 6th place
    Class 1: 65cm Horse & Pony Open Jumping Maximum height 65cm. Time limit of 2 minutes allowed in the first section of the course. The second section of the course will be timed. No jump off. Winner to receive the Blaston Novice Cup. Class 2: 75cm Horse & Pony Open Jumping Maximum height 75cm. Time limit of 2 minutes allowed in the first section of the course. The second section will be timed. No jump off. Winner to receive the Blaston Show Grand Prix Cup. Faults :
    • Knock down -4 faults      
    • First refusal -4 faults
    • Second refusal -4 faults   
    • Third refusal - Elimination
    • A fall anywhere on the course - Elimination
    Class 3: 85cm Horse & Pony Accumulator
    Entry Fee: £10.00 Winner Takes All: £50  Rosettes to 6th place
    Maximum height 85cm. Time limit of 2 minutes allowed for the course. After the first fence take your own line. Each fence may ONLY be jumped TWICE. The JOKER FENCE is worth 150 points and can only be jumped ONCE. If it is knocked down those points will be deducted from the final score. In the event of a tie the prize will be split. Winner to receive the Blaston Show Accumulator Cup. PLEASE NOTE. Horses/ ponies may only enter ONCE in any one competition.

    Fancy Dress:

    This class is open to everyone with or without a pony. Mounted competitors must wear a hard hat. There will be a display of all entrants in this class at Welland Valley Feeds on the week following the show

    Horse and Pony Classes:

    Class 4: Best Turned Out Open to horses and ponies of any height and riders of any age and judged 100% on turnout. The winner to receive the Blaston Show Plaque. Class 5: Lead Rein (TSR) Open to riders 10 years and under and ponies 127 centimetres (12.2 hh) and under, to be ridden in a snaffle bit with lead rein on noseband and judged on suitability of pony. The winner to receive the Perpetual Challenge Bowl. Class 6: Hunter Type Pony (TSR) Open to riders of any age and to ponies not exceeding 153 cm. (15 hh) . Judged on a combination of performance, manners and type. The winner to receive the Novery Kirnel Perpetual Challenge Shield. Class 7: Ridden Ex-Racehorse (TSR) Open to all thoroughbreds unraced and raced 4 years and over that have been ‘in training’ and are registered with Wetherbys. Class to be judged on turnout, manners, way of going, performance and conformation. The winner to receive the ‘John’ Trophy.
    Ring 1 - classes 8-12 will not start before 12:30 Entry Fee: £10.00   Rosettes : to 6th place
    Class 8: Family Horse & Pony (TSR) Open to riders of any age and to horses and ponies. Judged on a combination of turnout, performance (must jump a very small jump) and suitability as an absolute all rounder. The best local rider (living within an 8 mile radius of the show to receive the 60th Blaston Show Cup The winner to receive the Fernie Pony Club Cup. The best local rider (living within an 8 mile radius of the show) to receive THe 60th Blaston Show Cup. Class 9: In Hand Veteran (TSR) Open to horses and ponies of any height over 15 years of age. The winner to receive the Storm Challenge Shield. Class 10: Mature Riders Class (TSR) Open to riders 45 years of age and over and to horse and ponies. To be judged on turnout and individual show only. The winner to receive The Jay Dawson Challenge Cup. Class 11: Ridden Coloured (TSR) Open to riders of any age and to skewbald and piebald horses and ponies of any height. The winner to receive the Henry Tate Challenge Cup. Class 12: Ridden Veteran (TSR) Open to riders of any age and to horses and ponies over 15 years of age of any height. The winner to receive the Falcon Hotel Challenge Cup.

    Clear Round Jumping:

    9.00 am - 11.30 am Entry fee: £2.50 to be paid at the ringside.
    Open to riders of any age and to horses and ponies. This course will be very small with the aim of encouraging riders to get round happily. All competitors jumping a clear round will receive a rosette. (No limit to the number of times competitors may enter).

    Young Riders Classes:

    Open to riders 10 years and under 11.30 am Entry fee: £2.50 to be paid at the ringside. To be judged on performance only. Rosettes for all competitors.
    A Best Figure of Eight lead rein OR B Best Figure of Eight off the lead rein C Walk Trot Halt lead rein OR D Walk Trot Halt off the lead rein

    Gymkhana Events:

    2.30pm onwards Entry fee: £10.00 for the 4 classes to be paid at the ringside. Rosettes: to 6th place
    Two groups – Lead rein any age OR 10 years and under off the lead rein. Class One Bending Class Two Walk and Trot Class Three Ball and cone race Class Four Sack race

    The Equifest Ring:

    Ring 3 - From 9am onwards Entry Fee: £10.00   Rosettes : to 6th place
    Class 13: Black Country Saddles/ Equifest Ridden Hunters (TSR) Open ridden hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 153 cms. (15.0 hh). Rider any age. The winner to receive the Blaston Show Challenge Cup. Class 14: Nupafeed/Equifest Ridden Cobs (TSR) Open ridden cob, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over exceeding 148cms. (14.2 hh), but not exceeding 155 cms. (15.1 hh) Riders any age. The winner to receive the Members Trophy. Class 15: Nupafeed/Equifest Riding Horses (TSR) Open riding horse, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, any height. Rider any age. The winner to receive the Ernest Harrison Challenge Cup. Class 16: Working Hunter/Working Hunter Pony Clear Round Jumping Open to riders of any age and to horses and ponies. All competitors jumping a clear round will receive a rosette. The small course is designed to encourage and give confidence to both horse and rider. Entry Fee: £2.50 Paid at ringside

    Class 17: Working Hunter Pony - (TSR) For ponies 148cm (14.2 hh and under). Fences will not exceed 76cms (2ft 6inches). The highest placed pony that has been hunted in the Fernie or Cottesmore countries in the last season will receive the Huntsman Trophy. Sponsored by Ashley Farm Shop. The winner to receive the Fernie Feeds Working Hunter Pony Cup. Class 18: Working Hunter - (TSR) For horses over 148cms (14.2hh) Fences will not exceed 83cms (2ft 9inches). The highest placed horse that has been hunted in the Fernie or Cottesmore countries in the last season will receive the Huntsman Trophy. Sponsored by Town and Country Veterinary Centre, Market Harborough. The winner to receive the Blaston Show Working Hunter Champion Plate.

Stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age. The winner to receive the Balleroy Cragsman Trophy. The points are gained by the number of animals exhibited and their class placements at each show, with the final results and prize giving taking place at the Blakesley Show on 3rd August 2019. In addition, each individual show will be awarding a Sash and Rosettes. As well as a generous cash prize, the overall winner will receive the Perpetual Rix Trophy, which is held for one year.     Head of Section: Mr. Trevor Stocks Email: classiccars@blastonshow.co.uk Blaston Show are again running the popular Classic Car Run & Display for 2020. Our host again for the start venue this year is The Fox Inn at Hallaton (LE16 8UJ) which is situated approximately nine miles North East of Market Harborough. Bacon butties and Tea/Coffee will be available from The Fox Inn from 9.15am. Please arrive between 9:00am and 10:15am to collect your route instructions. Cars can then choose to start the 28 mile run whenever they wish up to 10.30am, when the remainder will be set off at 30 second intervals. Cars are required to meet up again at the Fox Inn by 11.45am, before entering the show by a grand parade for the prize giving in the main Blaston Show ring. The Run is completely non-competitive and is open to all road-legal classic, vintage and other interesting vehicles. There will be a ‘Best Turned Out’ competition and trophies will be awarded for the best in each of two classes:
    • Class One: Pre-1966
    • Class Two: 1966 to 1996
    Newer, interesting cars are very welcome to enter the run but will not be eligible for the ‘Best Turned Out’ competition. Advanced online entry is only £20.00 if received before Monday 22nd June, or £25.00 on the day, and includes admission to Blaston Show for car and occupants, route instructions, entry in the ‘Best Turned Out’ competition (judged before the run!) and infield parking in the classic car display area at the show. Static Display Classic Cars not wishing to participate in the Classic Car Run are invited to show their cars (up to 1996 models only) as part of the static display at the show. Entry is just £10 at the showground gate before 10:00am, and your vehicle is required to stay on display until 4:00pm. If you think you may attend, please email your details to the address above to help us estimate the numbers of classic vehicles to expect.

Cars can then choose to start the 28 mile run whenever they wish up to 10.30am, when the remainder will be set off at 30 second intervals. Cars are required to meet up again at the Fox Inn by 11.45am, before entering the show by a grand parade for the prize giving in the main Blaston Show ring. The Run is completely non-competitive and is open to all road-legal classic, vintage and other interesting vehicles. There will be a ‘Best Turned Out’ competition and trophies will be awarded for the best in each of two classes:
    • Class One: Pre-1966
    • Class Two: 1966 to 1996
    Newer, interesting cars are very welcome to enter the run but will not be eligible for the ‘Best Turned Out’ competition. Advanced online entry is only £20.00 if received before Monday 22nd June, or £25.00 on the day, and includes admission to Blaston Show for car and occupants, route instructions, entry in the ‘Best Turned Out’ competition (judged before the run!) and infield parking in the classic car display area at the show. Static Display Classic Cars not wishing to participate in the Classic Car Run are invited to show their cars (up to 1996 models only) as part of the static display at the show. Entry is just £10 at the showground gate before 10:00am, and your vehicle is required to stay on display until 4:00pm.
