Blaston and District Agricultural Society was founded in 1957 by a group of local people with a keen interest in agriculture and the rural community. The first ever Blaston Show was held the same year and has been an annual event ever since. Several of the original founders of the Society are still actively involved in organising the show. A key objective of the Society is to donate significant funds to different charities each year.
The 2009 Show saw the introduction of a new management team, albeit with the expert support of the Show’s committed Section Chairmen. The Society has exciting plans in further developing the show and building on the success of the past 53 years. The 2010 Show will see the introduction of even more attractions including a cattle exhibition.
The Society was incorporated as a limited company in 2009 as Blaston and District Agricultural Show Society Ltd (Co. 06796428). An application has recently been accepted enabling the Society to become a formally recognised Charity.
